Reactive Materials Management
ECOFLO® has been involved with the identification, handling, packaging,
transportation, and disposal of hazardous (including reactive) chemical
wastes for more than 20 years.
After carefully identifying the type of waste and its characteristics,
ECOFLO's Reactive Materials Specialists develop a detailed plan designed to
render the material safe for handling, transportation, and disposal.
An element of this plan includes ensuring that all appropriate regulatory
and public safety agencies and authorities have been notified and that all
required permits have been issued prior to commencement of work.
In addition to the required training, ECOFLO's Reactive Material
Specialists have years of experience in the field handling a wide range of
reactive material in a variety of unique situations.
ECOFLO's Reactives Containment Vessel is the first of its kind that
minimizes human insertion of the reactive material into the Remote Opening
Device. The vessel is trailer-mounted and can easily be moved to close
proximity of the job site. It also features a unique vessel platform
that facilitates insertion of the material into the chamber. These
features reduce physical handling of the reactive material which offers the
benefit of improved safety for both the client and ECOFLO® personnel.
Stabilization Techniques
ECOFLO's Reactive Materials Specialists employ chemistry-based
techniques to stabilize the following compounds:
Peroxide Forming Compounds
Temperature Sensitive Compounds
Organic Peroxides
Shock Sensitive Compounds
Multi-nitrated Compounds
Azides
Stabilization protocols are developed using up-to-date techniques,
chemical databases, and research.
ECOFLO® believes that it is our responsibility to protect the
environment, property, and health and safety of our clients and employees.
The Reactive Materials Specialists utilize state-of-the-art personal
